New Competition For Those In The Biz: "Radio's Got Talent"

By now you've seen all those competition shows on TV, ranging from "America's (and here, Canada's) Got Talent," "The Voice" and of course, the ancient "American Idol."

Now there's a new hunt for the best talent and it involves the other broadcast medium. "Radio's Got Talent" is designed to find the favourite radio personality down south. And you don't have to work just for a broadcast entity - online show hosts are eligible, too.

"Just send us a 1- to 3-minute audio submission of an on-air bit, show break, parody or running feature that best showcases your talent or show. Each person or show may submit in more than one of 10 categories (with a maximum of three entries allowed per person or show), including: Top 40, AC/Hot AC, Alternative, Rock/Classic Rock, Classic Hits/80’s, Country, Urban, Christian, Sports, and Talk."

Unfortunately, for now, the contest is only available to those who work in the U.S. But it's an intriguing idea that may one day spread to Canada, which certainly has a lot of talent of its own. The winner gets prizes up to $10,000 and bragging rights when the contest victor is announced on March 2, 2023.
