Are You Having Issues With CFRB's Signal?

Just after the 8:30 AM news on Wednesday, I heard John Moore note that many people were complaining about having trouble receiving CFRB's over the air signal. He told listeners (at least those who could hear him!) that a team of engineers was working on the problem, although he didn't say what that problem might be.

I'm getting the station just fine, sounding like it always does. Is anyone having an issue? If so, what is it? (I also wonder how we'll know when it's fixed, since from my perspective, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong!)

Sounds crystal clear in my office.

Some folks had complained to the World of Radio shortwave program a few month back that they felt CFRB's pattern was out of whack as the station was being heard in places where it shouldn't be heard at night. As a DXer, I know that a signal can pop up anywhere at night, but these reports complained of 'RB being heard on a regular basis at night.in parts of the U.S. (the mid-west if  I remember correctly). I wonder if these two situations are connected. I just checked the station and they don't sound quite as strong as usual in Port Hope, but it's not a major difference.

So it looks like I'm Glen Hauser's only listener here.

I'm not a CFRB listener but I've noticed a similar problem with 680 News some years, always around the time of the time change to or from DST. I called them about it one year. It turned out that they weren't switching from their night pattern back to theiir daytime pattern. I'm not sure how that happened whether it was human error or some kind of a timer issue.

I send him a cheque a couple of times a year just to help keep it going.
