The Internet Archive Building Collection of Amateur Radio Material

Not exactly broadcast related, per se, but it could be a very interesting collection from the early days of the Internet when dial up was still a thing.

The Internet Archive Wants Your Help Building Its Collection of Amateur Radio Material

If you're not familiar with the Archive you should be. It has literally thousands of audio, video and printed exhibits of everything from radio programs to TV video, along with books and newspapers, long defunct websites, music and even software - all free. It even boasts a few pages from SOWNY. The earliest one I could find is from April 15, 2007, when the late and much missed Craig Smith was running the board. (You can see the front page at the link below, although the actual posts were not saved.) Miss you Craig, wherever you are! Hope they've got high speed up there!

Fascinating to see some of the posters who are no longer with us, including the late Nevin Grant from CKOC, Mark Dailey from City TV and Mike Cleaver from out B.C. way. And then there were the people who did not come over to the newer site, run by Phil and later Iain Grant, names like Dave Lennick and Greg O'Brien, who started Cartt.ca, along with Rick Ringer. Haven't seen "adma's" name in years.

Some who were regulars back then are still welcome SOWNY members today. That list includes Jody Thornton, Radio Wiz and Mike Marshall. Glad to have you all here!
