Did CTV News Toronto fire all their copy editors

https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/ontario-man-who-had-identity-stolen-told-to-pay-10-000-for-loan-he-didn-t-take-out-1.5869553

I've made my fair share of spelling and grammar errors, but for a major news organization to screw up and use "accept" instead of "except" and not catch it before posting the article speaks to their current staffing issues.

Reminds me of the old story about the reason why certain colours of candy were specified in the Van Halen concert contract.

How many people had to miss this before it made it to the public?

Too bad they eliminated it. It would have made it more likely that I'd want to go there!

By the way, I once had a writer who wrote on our newsroom website about a game between the Leafs and the New York Rangers that "the Blue Shits won the battle," missing the all important letter "r."

No one noticed until about four hours later.

Love this site and thanks for the memories (and the even more important laughs).
