Fred was my weekend sports guy at CFRB for a period of time.  We kept in touch for many years.  He was one of the nicest people I have ever known or worked with.  I know he is survived by his wife.  My deepest condolences to her.  He went on to coaching personalities to make them appear comfortable on camera.

Ron Maclean and Hockey Night in Canada did a nice tribute last night to Fred.  He had quite the broadcasting career.
