From our friends at RadioWest.ca here are some classic big band influenced jingles from CKEY from the 1950's. Love the snow warning jingle.

Thank you for posting that link. I have always wondered what happened to those CKEY jingles. They're rarely heard and very hard to find.
My very first professional job was at CKEY in the late 70s and on those night shifts, I used to go searching for any evidence of them in their rock days. Nothing. Nada. Not a jingle, not a poster, not any advertising stuck away in a drawer somewhere. It was as though the Top 40 'EY never existed.
Such a shame, because it was not only a part of the station's history, it was a part of radio history as well. As usual, nobody saved anything.
My all time favourite jingle, though, was on the tail end of a PAMS session done for WGAR in Cleveland. It was completely ignored by everyone and never made it to air, until the hilarious Real Bob James discovered it, told an absolutely terrible joke, then ran it. It was a beautiful radio moment and as far as I know, he was the only one who ever put it on air.
You can hear all 13 seconds of that jingle here.
As for CKEY, uber-producer, SOWNY member and all around nice guy Doug Thompson once sent me a host of great memories from the station in those long gone days. They're reproduced below. Thanks again, Doug. These are great.
From 1963: In order of appearance (almost) J.P. Finnegan, Duff Roman, Big G. Walters, (unknown), Bill Brady and Dave Mickie. Anyone know the guy behind the cake?
Another great pic of the on air crew. That's David "Mickie" Marsden on the left, along with his cohorts from 1963.
Note the dig at CHUM in the contest in the bottom left of the chart.
You couldn't get them in a subway station, but they were all over the TTC.
While CHUM checked from the Ex, CKEY was draggin' their wagon to the fair grounds.

The unknown 'bride' in that first photo is CKEY DJ Lee Vogel. Lee was the only American on the DJ staff. All of the others were and are Canadian.
