Re: Bill Anderson RIP

Bill Anderson seemed like a genuine nice guy. Spoke to him a few times when I called into his show to make a request on Classical 96.3 FM. One occasion about 20 years ago, I was early for an appointment near their old studio location at 550 Queen St. East. I decided to drop in and have look at the lobby of their studios. Bill Anderson was passing through the lobby and offered to give me a tour of the facility. He was prepping for his show that was starting in a few hours. Spent about 30 minutes taking me around the studio and the offices. We chatted about music. the changing business radio, and other topics as well. Shame he didn't have a few years at least, to enjoy his retirement. R.I.P Bill Anderson.

Re: Bill Anderson RIP

AM740/Classical 96.3 has posted a farewell to Anderson, including his final sign-off on the FM station just a few months ago. His final statement was a class act, as you'd expect. A real pro, right to the end.

Re: Bill Anderson RIP

He was my PD at Country 59 in Toronto, just a very genuine, nice and warm human being.  Was very saddened to read the news.  Funny that I met his son in Kitchener years before when on air there.  Who knew that one day I would end up working for his father.

Re: Bill Anderson RIP

It seemed odd to me when Anderson - a veteran country music announcer - went to Classical 96. But as it turned out he was a classical music buff. Two completely different kinds of music - country and classical - and Anderson was very good in both formats.
