Astral Media Founder Dies At 79

His name was Ian Greenberg and his family managed to start from nothing and worked their way up to owning Astral Media, which in its time, controlled some pretty major radio stations, including CFRB. He was also instrumental in helping the Canadian classic "Porky's" get made, branched out into the billboard business, started First Choice (now the Movie Network) and convinced HBO to allow his company to start up HBO Canada.

He was also a board member with Bell, but I won't hold that against him!

Ian Greenberg, media executive and co-founder of Astral, dies at 79
