Reinventing Radio Drama: Will Podcast Movies Be Successful?

Articles in both the New York Times and Inside Radio discuss a new venture by Dramafy presenting "movies for the ears" or podcast movies complete with actors and sound effects. Will reinventing radio drama catch on?

Re: Reinventing Radio Drama: Will Podcast Movies Be Successful?

Audible also now does performances of audiobooks as audio movies with full casts of well known actors. These are often included in the subscription.

Famous voices, loud sound effects and a great soundtrack won't cover up bad acting or storytelling. Style over substance could be a real pitfall. So could the price point. People are already paying an arm and a leg for multiple streaming services.

YouTube has tons of podcasts, old radio plays and audiobooks of every genre, CBS Mystery Theatre, Lux Radio Theatre etc.

Dramafy will still be worth checking out, thanks mojo55.
