A great article on multi billionaire Jim Pattison in today's Financial Post. The article really doesn't say anything about his broadcast division which owns a couple of television stations and 54 radio stations, all in Western Canada. Regardless, an interesting piece..

Looking at the comments after the Financial Post story from yesterday were not all complimentary. Reading the 13 year old CBC story posted above looks like a negotiation tactic more than anything. The two Pattison owned grocery chains had just started negotiations with the union back in 2008. At least the staff was unionized, many employees that work for other grocery companies are not. If the two hour shifts actually ever happened, then the union isn't doing it's job then. Pattison Group, while not as well known in Eastern Canada employs about 45,000 people.
