Amazon Prime Video will make available live and on demand CBC Olympic coverage from Japan. Amazon says this is the first time that it has offered Olympic coverage anywhere at no additional charge to it's customers.

I don't think I fully understand. Is this literally CBC on Amazon? Or will Amazon air their own commercials when CBC goes to their own commercials?

CBC's online coverage of the last summer Olympics was phenomenal. Pretty much every event was available for viewing. The quality of all feeds was excellent. The usability/organization of the website was excellent. It was a great demonstration of good OTT delivery.

They first did this very well for the summer games before Vancouver but no one noticed because the consortium hype machine was already in full swing by then. They had a grid that looked like a program guide and you would watch any event you wanted live or on demand. You could also choose between the Olympic Broadcast Service feed or the CBC TV feed for every event.
