No Ryan, no Jay on 1010's The Rush this afternoon
Don't know if they've ever had both Ryan and Jay away at the same time during the afternoon drive show without veteran experienced talent sitting in at least one of the chairs but that's what happened today, Monday.
I tuned in for a bit and heard Amanda Galbraith running the program, throwing to commercials etc. and a male voice I didn't recognize...he sounded a bit green reading ad copy, but personable, smart, and game to bring his best. Didn't stick around for more than a segment or three, so don't know the details of why they were there, or who the guy was.
Jay and Ryan eventually doing the morning show on GNR am640 isn't the reason there were TWO guest hosts on...
The fact that it's Monday evening and nobody's mentioned the Rush on-air switch up here on the big yellow board could say something about where listeners are at with 1010, save for the always terrific Moore In the Morning Show with the irreplaceable John Moore, and the timely quips, asides, exposition and sound effects from Robert Turner, a lot of what's on CFRB is...🥱🤨?

The other voice was Jamil Jivanii normally at 7pm
Sitting in for him at 7pm the return of Matt Gurney to CFRB
Radio is weird sometimes

We're starting to get into "summer vacation season" as well (however "staycation" it might be for some) - traditionally July and August of course, but people typically starting about now to tie-in with the Canada Day week. Lots of musical chairs result.
