There is a very strange spot that is in the regular run on 640. (I haven't heard it anywhere else, although I suppose it could be in the rotation on FM music stations, as well.) It's for Pink Floyd and it essentially references all their albums, like "Dark Side of the Moon," "Wish You Were Here", "The Wall" and "Animals," plays snippets of their famous songs and invites fans to buy them.
I remember in days past artists trying to sell their latest LP on the radio, but I can't recall a group - especially such a prominent one - inviting people to buy (or in some cases re-buy) all their albums. I wonder what prompted this sudden campaign. I don't think I've ever heard one quite like it before. Has anyone else heard this? Is there a tag day coming for the Floyd?

Label is currently pushing box-sets, and I'm guessing the spots on 640 are supplementary to the main buy on Q.
