Toronto's NYE Celebrations Tied In With CHUM-FM & TVO

There won't be any public celebrations this year because of COVID, but the City of Toronto has decided to partner with one local radio station and an Ontario TV network to bring in the New Year.

According to a City of Toronto press release, the plans involve a big light show on T.O.'s most recognizable symbol.

"The CN Tower light show will be live-streamed on the City’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/user/thecityoftoronto  and simulcast on Jamar’s House Party live on CHUM1045 on December 31 starting at 11:58 p.m."

And TVO, of all stations, also gets involved. Interesting that the The Star is also taking part.

"[There] will also be a ...TVO New Year’s Eve event, From Ontario with Love: A Celebration of Hope. The 90-minute event, featuring incredible performances, storytelling and fireworks, will start at 10:30 p.m. on TVO, the TVO YouTube Channel, and thestar.com and will include Toronto sites such as the Princes’ Gates at Exhibition Place."

How cool is the CN Tower...not only for the light show but transmitting all of this media.  All eyes on it tommorow night.

Surprised nobody posted on this - did anyone watch the CN Tower "show"?   It was a little underwhelming.  A few fireworks would have been good but the lights shooting up and down is what it does every night just not as timely often.
