If Rogers and Bell do get into the Sports Betting racket and are positioned to make lots of new found cash, then they have no excuses  of any more layoffs or cutbacks. Hope their customers and the industry calls them out on this.  In fact if this does turn into a real money maker for them, they should be looking at adding and not cutting services.   But they need to be pressured to do this.
