Long time CKDO morning man Terry Johnston gets the Peter Perry award

The Whitby Chamber of Commerce held it's virtual Peter Perry Awards gala tonight and this year's winner is long time morning man Terry Johnston. He does a ton for Durham Region, he is always at charity golf tourney's, interviews local news makers and community leaders on the morning show.

I had the pleasure of working with Terry (not closely but I was doing a show on CKDO for 7 years)...and he is a gem. Hard working, talented, funny, big hearted, loves life, golf, his community, his top notch all the way...

The award is in honour of Peter Perry...Peter Perry AwardPeter Perry was a founder of the Town of Whitby; an astute businessman and truly dedicated to his community. He served as an elected representative to the Parliament of Upper Canada, as Whitby’s Township representative to the Home District Council, and was instrumental in the formation of Ontario County with Whitby as the County Town. The 2019 Peter Perry winner is Jim Flaherty. It is this spirit, enthusiasm and dedication to the community that the Whitby Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize today. Many people in our community give countless hours to make the Town of Whitby a better place. The Peter Perry Award is an extension of that commitment to giving back to our town and honours one outstanding individual who has made significant contributions to the community.

Terry is a very fitting winner and one of the good guys in the biz!

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...
