Re: Alex Trebek Passes at 80

Dan Patrick hosted a web-only show called "Sports Jeopardy", leading some to believe he might be being groomed as Trebek's successor.

Re: Alex Trebek Passes at 80

Jeff Probst hosted a great version called "Rock & Roll Jeopardy!" in which all the categories and clues were music related. This was before Survivor and if memory serves, I think it aired on VH1 in the States. Not sure if it was on the air in Canada, but likely MuchMusic carried it if anyone.

Re: Alex Trebek Passes at 80

I've been really enjoying these first three days with Ken Jennings hosting.  He started on the right note by admitting that you simply can't replace Alex Trebek.

So why bother?

Maybe this rotating guest host idea should be permanent -- or at least for the next season or two.  Nobody says there has to be only one host and there are plenty of potential hosts.  Looking forward to Mayim Bialik and Katie Couric hosting and hope they choose Levar Burton as well.

Also good to see that the show will be making a donation to the guest host's charity of choice.

Alex Trebek to be honoured in Trump's planned garden of 'American heroes'

This "planned garden," does it stand a better chance of becoming reality as Trump's "weeks away" better, cheaper healthcare plan promised a number of times? Never happpened.

MuchMoreMusic carried it in Canada. It debuted a couple years before Survivor but there was a bit of overlap; Probst was hosting both shows for about a year.

If - and I mean if - it ever gets built, he'll be in good company with at least one other Canadian - Alexander Graham Bell. Tecumseh, Kateri Tekakwitha, and Harriet Tubman, all of whom have significance in Canadian history, are also listed in there.
