Peter Shurman appeared unexpectedly for John Oakley on 640 Friday afternoon. But it wasn't illness or a scheduled day off that silenced the regular host. His Internet connection went out and he had no way to get the broadcast on the air from his home.
After all these months of most people working from home, I'm surprised this is the first time I've heard of it happening for one of the major morning or afternoon drive shows.
Oh well. I'm sure he's just devastated to get an unexpected long weekend!

i definitely don't doubt the Oakley outage, you could say working from home technical difficulties are a radio host's version of a snow day.
Shurman or Oakley, win/win....
