Two Iconic Oldies Artists Pass Away Within 24 Hours

Saw this on The Oldies Music Board, which is a great place to visit if you like 60s and 70s music.

Sad to hear of the death of Helen Reddy, whose iconic "I Am Woman" was the beginning of a string of big hits in the 70s. Her biopic was front and centre at least year's Toronto International Film Festival. She was 78 and suffering from dementia.

And Mac Davis, a singer/songwriter/actor whose biggest hit was "Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me" but who wrote a slew of hits for Elvis Presley during his 70s comeback, also passed away after complications from surgery. He was also 78.
