Mr. D was funny.  CBS had picked up the rights to the show but it has never aired.  They were considering a US version but so far no go.
Bizarre on CTV was also a good show in the day.  Very politically incorrect and actually was produced with Showtime and aired for six years on CTV.

'Bizarre' introduced us to 'Super Dave Osborne', whose show is mentioned as one of Canada's best TV shows.  Overall, Bizarre was a far more diverse and edgy show for its time.
