Another Simulcast in the Morning

Stringray radio is simulcasting their Halifax morning show BJ & The Morning Crew on Moncton's C103.  The morning program is also currently broadcast in Saint John on Q88.9.  Stingray says no jobs have been lost in the change over.  More details from Broadcast Dialogue...

Re: Another Simulcast in the Morning

A great example of a pragmatic approach to the current economic situation. This is a made-in-the-Maritimes show as opposed to an import from the U.S. which makes it easier to be more local rather than just generic in the content. I believe this is just the start of more of this sort of streamlining, particularly for some of the smaller chains.

Re: Another Simulcast in the Morning

Stingray's been pretty aggressive with it, even pre-pandemic. There's a morning show based in Red Deer that air on every medium/small market Country and Boom station in Alberta. Their CHRs' evening shows all come out of Calgary. Their Ottawa CHR morning show airs in Charlottetown and I believe elsewhere. And a tonne of out-of-market VTing, even in bigger markets
