He was Johnny Mitchell at CHUM in middays in the early '70s, but known to Miami listeners as Sonny Fox:

Hey Dale, great aircheck of Johnny that you featured this week on the Rock and Roll Scrapbook. Mitchell came across as everyone's pal when he was on the air. Great quality aircheck from 1971. Notice how Mitchell would not only talk over the intro of songs but also commercials? Anyone hear the operator error during the tape? Loved listening to the ads. Gordon Sinclair sounds pissed off even reading the prices of steaks and beef in the Dominion ad. And fur hot pants from Montreal?? Oh La La!!

Thanks Mr. Paterson. Tom Rivers also talked over the intros of commercials, and was quite good at it. I noticed the same thing about the Sinclair ad.
