Re: Sandy Beach Replacement

Now it can be told! It's not that Sandy Beach exactly wanted to retire, he just couldn't reach a new agreement with Entercom. However, it wouldn't be a surprise if he needed to take a rest - I was surprised to learn he's believed to be 80 years old! His last show is July 30th.

Re: Sandy Beach Replacement

Wow. David Bellavia certainly had no shortage of offers and opportunities in all kinds of fields following his receiving the Medal of Honor. There was a movement to draft him to run for congress (again) in NY 27 after the guy who defeated him in the primary resigned on being convicted of insider trading.

He has said on the air that he was not comfortable using the Medal of Honor as a springboard of sorts for running for office. I expect that a few years as a prominent radio host might go a long way to giving him broader credibility in the community and a clearer conscience about running again.

Talk radio can indeed lead to success in politics. He may well be a future Mike Pence of some fresh sovereign territory.
