This isn’t a local story by any means and it’s well known to some. But it’s still a fascinating look at the world’s weirdest broadcaster. “The Buzzer” isn’t a branding slogan. Instead it’s a bizarre Soviet Union era radio station located in the middle of nowhere that serves a mysterious purpose.

Shortwave fans have known about “number stations” for years -  a place where generic voices come on occasionally and repeat a series of numbers that seem to have no meaning unless you have the code to decrypt them.
