My favorite program on CBC stereo as it was called then was Nightlines as hosted by David Wisdom during the 1990's. Amazingly diverse playlist and huge support of indie artists including Canadian indie. Cross genre in the best tradition of free form.

Perhaps the only program that I listened to, with any regularity was "Disc Drive" with Jurgen Gothe.
He passed away in 2015. I believe the show's run ended many years earlier, although I found an entry that suggests it ran for 23 years.

And there was "Bringing Back The Future" with Anne Pohl and Art (?) Anyone else remember that programme? And all of the originally recorded classical music from the likes of the NACO and other Canadian orchestras? Great Jazz too. Best to you from London, UK

As a kid in the 70’s, I would look forward to the radio plays CBL 740 (where it was on the AM band at that time) played on Sunday evenings. Not sure if there was a host but I enjoyed putting on my transistor radio and ear plug and listening to these old radio plays.

I believe the Great Canadian Gold Rush was on CBC AM and the show was eventually replaced by a program called Neon hosted by JB Shane which played alternative music. I remember listening to Neon at the cottage on a great old AM only floor model maybe around 1984/85.

I thought it was repeated on the FM network. I might be wrong, it was a long time ago. Regardless it was a good show.

"Brave New Waves." I heard the first show in Feb 1984 and the last one in April 2007.
"Neon" was on CBC Radio, the AM network, when Radio's programs were heard on FM in some places. 95.1 Chatham and 106.3 Sarnia were CBC Radio frequencies when "Neon" was on.
