This morning John Moore on "Moore In the Morning" on Newstalk 1010 and Mike Stafford, and Supriya Dwivedi along with morning show segment contributor Drex from overnights on GNR am 640's show, made a special point to discuss the life and passing of Mike Sloan.

Mike Sloan, if you're unfamiliar with the story, was the London man who shared his journey with stage 4C anaplastic thyroid cancer on social media with bluntness, humour and honesty. His tweets, and conversations created a large community of followers that felt like they really knew him, and befriended and supported him through the months as his health worsened. There are several interviews with Mike on different platforms, and they are well worth checking out. Perhaps Drex will do a reroll of his interview with him tonight/this morning.

As several radio hosts commented on the morning shows, Mike's choice to end his journey presents the opportunity to discuss MAID.

Mike Sloan was such a radio fan, and so vocal at times I wondered this morning if he had been a presence and a contributor here on the big yellow board...

Newstalk 1010's John Moore tweeted about Mike Sloan's passing "It was always going to end this way but still breaks your heart. Rest now Mike."
