CBC Toronto Forced To Briefly Air Local Ottawa News At 6

It's rare you see a major newscast interrupted, but that's what happened Tuesday, when CBC's Toronto signal was suddenly replaced by its local counterpart in Ottawa during its 6 o'clock show. A crawl at the bottom of the screen noted it was due to "technical difficulties."

Not sure how long it lasted or what happened, but at 6:26 PM, the Ottawa newscast was suddenly cut off mid-story, CBLT then aired several commercials before local anchor Dwight Drummond returned to apologize for the interruption, without explaining what it was.

Can't remember the last time I've seen that kind of outage during a major Toronto newscast. I wonder what really happened.
