Any Rogers cable customers will have noticed by now that the AMC channel is still on the Rogers line up. The channel was to have been dropped by the cable company on January 1st, but a last minute deal was agreed to on December 31st.
AMC had been demanding higher carriage fees and Rogers was refusing any increase for the channel and threatened to pull the service from the line up. Rogers was claiming that AMC's popularity with customers had been sliding and didn't warrant any increase.
Bell has also refused AMC's demands for a carriage increase and plans to delete the channel from it's service on February 1st. That is unless someone blinks, or a new deal can be agreed to.

It's a no brainer that Bell now has Rogers as their guide to what AMC is willing to work with.
If Bell can't get the same arrangement Rogers got, then that's going to be AMC's loss more than Bell's.
