Re: Family Feud Canada

Yes I have Bell Fibe and most of the promo is obviously for their specialty channels, Crave or CTV but they do  set aside some time for CBC or even APTN, and NTV news in the Maritimes.

CBC doesn't really have the in house marketing capacity of Rogers, Bell or Corus who all have many specialty channels, and radio stations.  CBC will buy radio time on commercial stations for advertising from time to time. Since CBC radio is non commercial, promo time is very limited.
The subway station "take over" is for name recognition and promoting a new show. They aren't necessarily expecting people to tune in Family Feud Canada from the signage in subway stations. But the signage does help with brand awareness, helping to make the public aware of a new program and differentiate the Canadian show from the established US version.

Family Feud Canada did hit the motherload for free promotion with the above Popeye Chicken clips which trended on both CNN and Fox News over the weekend. It trended so strong that Popeye Chicken is giving the Dubois family $10,000 worth of free chicken. This got the story back on various websites for a second time, over the weekend. All free promotion for the show,  and a lot of Canadians would see this on both CNN and Fox newsites over the weekend.  This is the type of promotion and buzz that you can't really put a dollar value on.
