Have to give credit for this one to the Oldies Music Board, which I often read but otherwise am not associated with. It's worth a visit and if you're into oldies, it might be a place you want to check out.  

A poster there notes that the Beatles "Abbey Road," celebrating its 50th anniversary, has set a Guinness World Record by becoming the album with the longest time between hitting #1 one on the U.K. charts. It's taken 49 years, 252 days between appearances at the top of the charts. 

That's pretty amazing and given the current state of the music business, I'm willing to predict it's a mark that will never be broken.

In honour of the anniversary, the long gone but still ever-present Fab Four have released a new music video, the first official one ever done for George Harrison's "Here Comes The Sun."
