Don Cherry/Brian Williams Ending Radio's "Grapevine" After 3 Decades

It's been on the air on various stations for 36 years, but there will be no more Brian Williams-Don Cherry faceoffs, as the long running Grapevine is coming to an end. (But Coach's Corner will continue on CBC,)

Good long run

"I'll kick your ass down Yonge Street"... CFTR's Robert Holiday circa 1979...

I enjoyed listening to Grapevine. A small flaw was that the segment was just before the bottom, or top of the hour on Sportsnet.

Grapevine's real flaw was that it was presented in two parts in order to get in those all important spots. When Don was sharing a good meaty story, and would have to pause midway for the commercial break, it wasn't a big deal to hang around for the conclusion. But on days when the story was short and sweet, Don and Brian would come back from the break into the second half and have only a few sentences for the listeners to wrap it up. Before you could say "Bobby Orr!" Grapevine was over and it was back into more commercials.

It'd be interesting to to have them do a retrospective of the highs and lows over the years.

Had to correct Grapeline to Grapevine: (has anything ever been more annoying than autocorrect?) (other than the misuse of "Breaking News!' of course)🙄

Like to see the end of Coach's Corner. Time for that, too. Past time.
