CBC's "Schitt's Creek" Gets Some Major Emmy Love

It's not often you see a Canadian series get so many major Emmy nominations - or even one! But it happened on Tuesday, when the Television Academy revealed who's in the running. "Creek" is nominated for Outstanding Comedy, while Eugene Levy is in the running as Lead Actor in a Comedy. And his old SCTV colleague Catherine O'Hara snagged a Lead Actress in a Comedy nod.

I can't recall a time when a Canadian series scored so well in Hollywood. It's become a huge sensation down south, after it was picked up by an American cable station. We're not likely to see this happen again for a very long time.

The awards will be handed out Sept. 22th.

The complete list

I think this is great news...good for the cast and production crew, the writers et al...

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...
