Stop the Presses at Niagara College!!!

If you want a little confirmation about how the "newspaper" business is changing and shrinking in some markets, look no further than the Journalism Program at Niagara College on Southwestern Ontario...

They announced that this is the final year for the "Journalism" program and will now be changed to "Multimedia Storytelling".

Faced with declining enrollment, a shrinking job market in the newspaper business, the program enters it's last year next fall as it opts to the new program title.

The Multimedia Storytelling program will still involve journalism, but will offer a broader perspective and tap into the various media platforms that dot the media landscape.

It will also draw on a different kind of storytelling skills needed in journalism that exists in the varying different media.
