CJOY's Larry Mellot Celebrates Major Milestone In Guelph Radio

He does the afternoon drive show, is P.D. of the station and has just called his 1,800 Guelph Storm hockey game. And he's been at the station for an incredible 30 years.

Longtime Guelph Storm play-by-play man Larry Mellott calls it as he sees it

Congrats to a dedicated guy.

I met Larry when he worked at CKSL in London.

I had won the set of Crusin' lp's over the phone from him & went to the station to collect.

It was about 1972.

He had a lot more hair back then...

It's great that CJOY still has a live pm drive show. Some stations like CJBK 1290 London have abandoned it.

The headline below is a bit misleading, since he'll still be doing the Storm games. But he's done with his day-to-day duties.
