i'm surprised this article flew under the radar here. Rayner raises some good points about the prejudice facing CanCon acts 30 years ago. I remember it well. Now that these bands have become "nostalgia" or "classic", Canada now has something its own to look back on.
(sure, there were some acts we could have done without, but there was also a lot of good music coming out back then.)
