Bob Rice R.I.P.
For those that remember CKEY; at both 580 & 590 on the dial. Bob Rice known as Captain Bob was a part of the morning team doing traffic; from the air. He was part of the team of Keith Rich, Robert Payne and Dini Petty. He was 72.

Very sad to hear this. I worked for a while in the CKEY newsroom and Bob was one of the best, in addition to being one of the great characters at a place that was full of them. Another local legend gone, from the days when radio personalities could truly be considered legendary. He also maintained a CKEY Memories website for a time filled with some rare sounds and stories from that station, but I believe it's long since offline.
His daughter left a fuller obit on the Radio West site.

Oh, no....
I worked with Bob early in my seven-year run at CKEY. A marvelous scamp and character. RIP Cap'n Bob.

Very VERY sorry to learn of the passing of Cpt. Bob. Worked with him twice. Good man. Good broadcaster. Good heart.
And young...really.
My sympathies to the family...and to ALL those who respected Bob Rice.
