Interesting read on how radio can thrive in this social media world

Since it is a holiday Monday, any industry happenings will be kind of quiet today...which means we get a break from CKNT and Jazz FM today!!!

But I do want to share an interesting article about how media thought leaders feel radio can compete nicely in this ever changing world of social media and media in general.

Here is the link to the article, I do hope it inspires some dialogue today!

Cheers and happy Family Day...

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

Re: Interesting read on how radio can thrive in this social media world

From the article... "People love visual. They’d rather watch than read."

That may be true for most people. Not for me. I read wapo.com, nytimes.com, torontosun.com, thedailybeast.com, etc. I steer clear of msnbc.com because I'm forced to watch a video to get most stories.

I can scan through a printed story, looking for something of interest, much faster than sitting through a video hoping for gold. Your own situation may differ.

I have the same view.  A video can be a great  "supplement" to a written piece depending on the story;  but not a replacement.
