I found this British article fairly interesting, although I knew about most of what's listed here.
There were a few things that surprised me, though - it claims the first radio equipped car was demonstrated in 1904! (Were there any stations on the air then? How could you put in a radio if there were no radio stations to listen to?)
Then there's the in-car turntable, an early attempt at taking your music with you. It didn't work for a lot of obvious reasons.
