Is FM close to seeing the same fate as AM?

I follow broadcast veteran Dick Taylor's blog...this week he shares the sentiment that there has been a mass proliferation of FM licenses given out by the FCC, I expect it is the same with the CRTC...

Taylor is American, and has the American world view. I feel we have similar issues here at home.

The bottom line is that there are too many FM stations dotting the dial and landscape that it may in fact be a detriment and not a help...

How much is too much Young asks?

What's your take, do we need to put a hold on the number of stations and licenses given to broadcasters that want an FM license?
