About the only thing longer than a typical Super Bowl Sunday is the ongoing saga about American ads airing on Canadian TV without simsub for that annual contest. And now yet another quarter will kick off soon, after the Supreme Court confirmed on Thursday that it will hear the appeal brought by Bell and the NFL over the controversial practice.
The Supremes are the final arbiters on this, unless the CRTC suddenly decides to change its own ruling. Just when the case will be heard is still TBA, but it will obviously have to be well before the big game next February.
