Me-TV FM is pretty much the format I was programing on Voices before it fell off-air. To be honest, it was sort of an early-80's CKFM meets whatever a Y2MMXV CKFM might have sounded like, but I had a ball doing it, and was always convinced if it had some type of promotion we could have made a good go of it. The station staff at Me-TV FM is about the same size we had also .
I strongly believe there's a huge gap in North America for an adult oriented easy listening singer/songwriter format that isn't afraid to dip into the vault 2 or 3 times an hour.
I'm so thrilled that this station is doing as well as it is. Good for them !!! Had we had more time, who knows.. but it wasn't meant to be.

Completely agree. Now, MeTV-FM is near the bottom 25-54, so this is all about re-training agencies, buyers, and mainstream retailers that 55-70 is a legit demo that can now be marketed to.

I was driving out of town today and I heard a track on The Jewel station at 92.5 ( I think), a song that's from the vault somewhat. Blue Rodeos version of Gordon Lightfoot's Go GO Round. I was surprised.
Speaking of adult formats. Chicago's WXRT FM still has the Adult Album Alternative format and they could certainly celebrate their 45th anniversary and rightly claim that they are still eclectic. They are as adventurous now as CFNY was around 1987. They have gone through numerous ownerships and how they manage to stay afloat is amazing.I see in the ratings above that they are ranked 13th in Chicago and my guess is that they have a loyal listener base that makes it work despite over-all ratings. One of the few major market Triple A stations that has lasted this long and held on somewhat to it's free form roots. Still an endangered species though.
