Doesn’t Corus ever pay its phone bill? It’s a question worth asking after the call-in lines at AM640 went out again on Monday, and stayed that way throughout almost the entire day.
It’s the second time in the last week or so and the third in about the past month. And for a station that depends heavily on callers (as opposed to CFRB’s more interview intensive format) it’s a pretty noticeable loss. All the hosts were forced to tap dance all day, extend interviews (the studio line was still working for guests, but for obvious reasons they can’t give that out) as they waited for things to be fixed. And they never were.
Say, you don’t suppose rival station owner Bell is deliberately taking its time to get them back up and running do you? Nah, couldn’t be. That’s heading dangerously into Gary Bell (a very different kind of “Bell”) territory.
But still, you’ve got to wonder - how long does it take to ensure this doesn't keep happening?

Who says they're using BELL Canada? They could be using any landline out there.
Home landline service under their umbrella is not available here, but it does exist...

They do.
Every time their phones go down, they complain about Bell Canada on air. It leaves little doubt that that's their service provider.
