Sass Jordan RIP

Holy Crap!  This getting to be the decade-long version of 2016.  It's like rolling the dice to decide whether someone will be here or not in 2030.  Very sad news.

Cheers,
Jody Thornton

Re: Sass Jordan RIP

What a shame and only 63.  She was a great judge on Canadian Idol. I bought her first album which included Tell Somebody which you still hear once in a while on a few rock stations.  She recently cancelled three shows in NW Ontario early in September due to a health issue.  Sass was still scheduled to open for Styx October 24th in Quebec City.  I believe Jordan and her musician husband Derek Sharp were living in Orangeville years ago, don't know if they were still living in that area.

Re: Sass Jordan RIP

So sad. I read a few weeks ago that she had to cancel some concert dates due to health concerns, but I was hoping it wasn't anything serious. Sadly, that wasn't the case.

It seems like in the past little while whenever there's news of a celebrity over a certain age getting sick or being hospitalized, it's enough to put you on the edge of your seat.

Re: Sass Jordan RIP

Sass also sang back up for The Box from time to time.  Always remember hearing her on their hit Closer Together.  She was in the video too, which Much Music played quite a bit.

Sweet Sass was in the video, but that's not her voice on the song Closer Together. That voice on Closer Together actually belongs to Martine St. Clair.

Re: Sass Jordan RIP

Sad news.

TM is correct. And when Sass cited Martine in questions/interviews, she was often very gracious and would call her "The wonderful Martine St. Clair" or "An extraordinary talent in Martine St. Clair":

I'm approaching 2000 episodes of Toronto Mike'd, but without a doubt, Sass Jordan's visit is a top ten for me. She was pure delight in this convo:

Re: Sass Jordan RIP

I'm looking forward to hearing the Toronto Mike episode featuring Sass.

I came across a wonderful interview with Sass on YT. (Tho the production could have used an editor tbh.)

She answered some pretty compelling questions that were loosely based on the Proust questionnaire. Sass Jordan was a true artist.

RIP Ms. Jordan

John Moore noted on Monday that there may have been an error in the initial reporting and that she may have actually been 65, not 63. Either way, it was still too soon.
