The Toronto Star has tried to get answers since breaking the story about the Leafs Talk cancellation on the Fan 590, but no one's talking. Well, almost no one. One source suggests a possible unconfirmed reason.
"According to industry sources with direct knowledge of the situation who were granted anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak on the programming decisions, part of the reason for the show’s demise was the blunt nature of some of (hosts) Bunkis and McKee’s criticism of the Leafs last season.
That would be particularly problematic if criticism of the team played any role in the decision, feeding the narrative of ownership exerting influence on content when it owns teams and media."
And yet it sounds exactly like something Rogers would do now that they own 100% of MLSE. (Still, the announcers on Jays Talk weren't exactly complimentary of this year's effort, either.)
Sportsnet’s popular ‘Leafs Talk’ show was quietly cancelled this season. We tried to find out why

This particular point annoyed me when this first came out.
While it’s technically correct that Leafs Talk is cancelled, we don’t know the status of Jays Talk. They didn’t overlap this year.
Comments about Rogers picking one over the other are premature.

Whatever its future status, at least they let the season finish before cancelling any of the Jays' post-game material. We'll see if it comes back next year, although I really like Blair & Barker's analysis after a game and it would be a shame to lose that.
The other thing I don't get quite get is that both Bunkis and McKee are still there, so it's not like Rogers is saving any salaries. So why kill the show?
