All week, CFTO's Noon News has been led with a report from Steve Ryan, a former Toronto Police officer, now working for CP24. It may just be a coincidence, but I can't remember a single station having the same reporter covering different stories getting the lead for four days in a row. (They didn't do a show on Wednesday because of Truth and Reconciliation Day but I have a feeling he would have led off then, too.)

There's nothing wrong with this, per se, but it means they're always leading crime and while Ryan is slowly feeling his way into broadcasting, he's by no means the same as having a pro on air who has lots of TV experience.

I'm not sure if this streak will continue on Monday - it will depend on what the lead might be - but it's very odd to turn to the same guy day after day after day after day. I wonder why that is.
