Ever Wonder How To Tune In A DAB Station?

The BBC has a primer on how listeners can tune into one of their Digital Audio Broadcasting stations. Turns out it's not just the frequency that counts.

"To listen to DAB radio, you need to tune to the correct frequency to receive the service you want, just as you do with AM or FM. However, as the frequencies allocated to DAB are not particularly easy to remember, they have been allocated a code, known as a frequency block."

I'd never heard of this but it can't be too complicated and it's something we'll never know here. But imagine having to relearn how to tune your radio. Not to mention having to buy a new one.

Wish we had DAB.
Hd kind of sucks.
No musical variety and few interesting english-language substations.
The only ones using hd well are ethnic broadcasters, with CMR being the first and best.

HD or DAB.... it doesn't matter if the broadcasters don't actually put programming on the signals people want and isn't the same as they can get with their current radio.    The UK made sure the radios are available, and because of this the market accepted it.    What we have here is lack of knowledge of the medium.   Most who have HD don't know they have it.   Zero effort by most broadcasters on the platform.   No wonder we have what we have currently.
No radio should be sold in a car or home without HD and broadcasters need to put programming on their HD channels that is not already available for anyone to care.    Sadly we a years behind where we should be with the platform due to the lack of action.
