Call it a voice in the wilderness. A 70-year-old hiker who got hopelessly lost for 11 days in the bush while on a journey in northern Ontario says it was the signal from CKPR-FM that kept him going and gave him hope that he would be rescued. 

Eventually he was. 

"In an article in the Washington Post, (Craig) Berg said he was "astonished" when he found he could pick up the Thunder Bay radio station.  

While still lost on the island, he had written in his daily journal that "it was great to hear a voice."

Berg contacted Dougall Media to express his appreciation for the companionship provided by 91.5 CKPR, and said he hopes the station will send him a coffee mug as a momento."

It's an extreme way to get some station swag, but hopefully for him, it will work!
