I had no idea this existed until I stumbled across it on the web. It's a rare commercial for IBM with some very familiar faces.
The spot features Harry Morgan, Loretta Swit, Gary Burghoff, William Christopher, Larry Linville, Wayne Rogers and Jamie Farr, the former stars of M*A*S*H, trying to sell consumers and businesses a newfangled computer system. It aired in 1987, four years after the series aired its record breaking final episode on CBS.
It's not really all that entertaining, given the star power, but with all those celebrities packed into a 60 second spot, they had to get the message across in a hurry. It's not the follow-up "After M*A*S*H," but more like after "After M*A*S*H."
And the timing of my find is also odd - it comes on the anniversary of the week the show first debuted on TV (to low ratings, no less) in 1972.
Does anyone remember this? Could it have been a Super Bowl spot?
