Anyone have Adults 35-64? Or 55+

640 is atrocious.  Nice work from the previous PD.

Re: Summer Ratings

No surprise about 640 and CHFI.
But, I thoght boom would be number 2 or boom number 1 and CHFI number 2.I think new country will work out for stingray and flow's new direction will work out.

I would argue the PD wouldn't matter if the budget is set so low you can't turn the ship around.    Almost all shows are national now...  less and less local.   Talent are the talent who will work for the price they can barely afford.

They may score well with older white men, who yell at clouds.... but Toronto isn't exactly a conservative town, contrary to the hosts/programming of the station currently.

1010 is right down with them....   where 680 is local news, local focus.... local needs and wants of their audience... no shock they are top of the crop.

Chum 1045 is the biggest shocker.... Once the giant.... but oh have the giants fallen.      I would like to see the Female vs male in the same demo... that is more chfi and chum's focus... I'm betting that you will see chum and boom in different locations.

Don't bring race in there, yes, it mostly has an older mail european audience, but 640 scores well with the far-right, america-loving in Toronto and they are a minority.
Most conservitives, including myself are centre-right, european mails with some caribian mails and southasian mails, canada-loving, but want our country to keep its cultural values, have lesser immigration trudeau gave us a backlog, and are tyerd of the left's takeover of culture and politics.
Most conservitives can relate better to 1010 or 610 than to 640, except for ben.
Ben's the only normal host on that station now, also rob, the toronto and vancouver-baced hosts are not as far-right.

Re: Summer Ratings

Wildly disastrous results for CHUM… and what a fall from grace for those Indie darlings! Coincidentally, both also happen to have the cockiest managers in the market. Some explaining to do!

Why is zoomer so low?
They program the best out of all of our radio stations.
They even play some newer music, I'm young, but I love zoomer's music way better than kiss or vergin.
I also love CHFI and Chum, but they nead to play more slower, melody-filled songs.
Dream 105.7 is now my new goto, they program closer to heart in the U.k, which I stream on radiomap.eu or global player.
And, why is 1010 Still so low?
Does bell nead to ask the P.D of CJAD how to program a talk station for a large city?
I think so.
1: add hosts from diverce backgrownds, not just brittish backgrownd hosts, they have greek and jewish hosts on CJAD.
2: be interactive and actualy hilarious without yelling, Yes, I'm talking about jim richards, I change the station or turn off the radio when he's on.
3: don't only talk about the fancy areas of the city.
CTV has a studio in scarborough, why arn't your hosts talking about scarborough, when astral ownd 1010, places such as eglinton square were mentioned and they had adds for places in scarborough.

I reckon it was a mixture of Kiss 92 moving older musically, and CHUM taking a big Marilyn dump. Add those two up and you give Z a good summer

Hate to break it to the MBD fan club and the overwhelming amount of right wingers here on this thread, but the MN was right.  Also, from what I hear MBD had plenty of autonomy in his role.  How much is nepo baby Ben being paid for a zero share show?  If the previous PD put more thought into real news, platforming a variety of differing ideas, instead of making is PC pals happy they'd probably have better ratings and larger audiences.

Re: Summer Ratings

Bendixen did what you wanted. He hired an Olivia Chow voting tattooed female reporter/newsreader. She worked short of a year before Gossling & Co. ordered cuts across the board. I searched this site but can't find her name.
There are old MBD interviews online where he outlined his programming philosophy, which at one point included hiring Jully Black and Desmond Cole at CFRB.

Just noting facts here. I have my own misgivings on his work results.

Oh no! He hired a reporter who voted for the mayor that most people also did! And she's a woman??! On the radio??!!

That's *almost* as bad as giving the previous mayor his own show on the other station!

A format shift from all hits to "feel the beat" dance variety may be causing temporary spike as the curious that be may simply be checking it out and giving it a bit of a listen as something new to listen to.
Once the hype dies down, they'll most likely fall back to a 4.1 share.

A member suggested MBD should have  platformed a variety if ideas. The reporter I mentioned did that.

This is a scurrilous insinuation. I note a fact and you chose to condescend me, another board member. A clear violation here.

I'm a right-winger, but I also love John Moore on 1010.
1010 Does what you want, they even had far-left reshmi who belongs on cbc or CIUT or met radio.

Re: Summer Ratings

Someone asked why 1010 is so low-rated.

I can give you a theory. No one in that demo...or, quite frankly, ANYONE...wants to hear gasbags bloviate for hours on end.(And it's not just 1010; AM 640 & 590 The Fan also qualify.) The ONLY reason why 680 NewsRadio bucks the trend is how it's packaged: get the news headlines/traffic, etc. you need when you need it(and they have said this on air in the past-I don't know if they do it now)and exit to another station.

Chum FM is very stale and so is its playlist but glad to see they do throwback music style brunch on now both Saturday and Sunday.
