It took thousands of signatures, but "Les Simpsons" are back on French TV in Quebec. TV's longest running sitcom has for years been dubbed into French, with a talented cast of voiceover actors filling the familiar character roles.

But then Corus, which owns Teletoon, said au revoir to the recast episodes, deciding not to translate the 36th season, putting fans there up in arms and demanding it be brought back. 

Bell has now stepped in and restored the Springfield family en Francais. Although it's not entirely the same as the shows you've seen.

"For example, the characters spoke in regional Quebec accents, including joual, the colloquial dialect associated with working-class Montreal, while U.S. people and places were swapped out for local references.

In one episode, a sketch involving upstate New York — including the cities of Utica and Albany — is replaced in the Québécois version with the Lac-Saint-Jean region and the towns of Jonquière and Alma."

Which leaves just one big question: how do you say "D'oh" in Quebecois?
